Do Acai Berries Work for dieting?

There has been a lot of hype over the last year especially ever since Dr. Perricone clearly promoted the acai berry as a dieting product. I'm aware of the benefits of the antioxidants from the acai berries. There has been a ton of clinical studies on how antioxidants fight free radicals in your body, but i wasn't sure what the mechanism was behind why it helps burn fat.

First of all the majority of the dieting products are powders or pills.
